Thank you for this video Matthew, you’re a saint. Taking it slow is the most significant aspect of teaching a language, especially if the student is struggling. The only problem that I have currently, especially with the adult classes, is that they expect us to cover the entirety of the materials, even though it would be more beneficial to mostly focus on a particular skill that is lacking.

Interesting tips, Matthew, but I’m curious. Did you deliberately make a BAD example so you could use it in this video? Who were the unfortunate students upon whom you inflicted the bad lesson?

Great tips, Matthew! I usually do pronunciation and explanation at this stage. I check comprehension while we read a text. In most of the cases this has given good results. However, it is good to have comprehension check immediately in case of some really advanced words.
