Hello and goodbye,get children’s attention!

As is known for all, music has the power to deepen our connections not only with people speak the same language but also with people throughout the world. It doesn’t matter whether you understand lyrics or not,you can be touched.Music is universal!

We wish all of our students happy. They could not only achieve knowledge from your class but also a lot of fun with you. They could be both interested in our class and open to you.And music has the magic to help you achieve these objectives.

For those clients who are beyond 8 and know little about English,it is more important to have connections with them than rush to teach them English.Otherwise, they could be at loss and frustrated if you just lecture something they totally don’t understand at the very beginning.Worst of all, they could cry and reject to have the session. So use music to open their doors!Get their attention!Be their friend!

Here we have two songs for you.One warm up song at the beginning, one goodbye song in the end.We did a lot of expriments for these two songs. They do help a lot to add colors and fun to classes, and break the ice between tutors and clients with zero basis of English. So,use them in your class, when your client is under 8 and below level 3.

Warm up song:Hello Song

First one is a hello song, use it as your warm up to get your client happy and energetic.Kids love music!Once you enter your classroom, give your little angel a big smile and say hello. And you can tell the student “Before the class, let’s sing a song,ok?”or “Before the class, let’s do some warm up,ok?”And go to the hello slide. And do not forget to use your body language.

Say hello to kids and say “let’s sing a song together!” Also you can guide your client to copy your words”Music, please.”So when you play the hello song, your client will have a rough idea of what music is.Then invite kids to follow your action by saying” show me your hands” wave your hands or nod your head with the music.

As long as you can get your client active and open,it will be super easy for you to teach anything new.Becasue the client will think you’re interesting and nice,it would be fun to be your student! There won’t a huge gap between you and your client due to languange problem anymore.

And this song is very useful. It can help your client to notice the question”How are you?”Maybe later he/she can answer that question depends on this song and your TPRs.So please try it!

And we suggest stop it before 00:30. We don’t want them to answer you tired or hungry.Haha.We wish them happy ,great and wonderful.

Here is the sample video of using this warm up song. You can use that as a reference.

And after that, you can either ask “How are you?”to lead them to say “I’m good”or go to the introduction page.

Goodbye song:Goodbye

Second one on the playlist is a goodbye song for your ending. We don’t want our clients to lose their fun and interests even in the end of classes. Also,we want you to be happy in the end of your class. So try this goodbye song!I bet you will be happy when you see your client singing and moving with the music. Here we have the goodbye slide for you.You can use that when you have your goodbye song.

Also, the rythme of this song is very light and happy, the lyric is very easy. And it can help review the word alligator if you taught animals in your session.

We talked about how to use goodbye song in another aricle called how to say goodbye.

You can use it as your reference. Here’s the sample video

If you have any great ideas for warm up and ending, feel free to leave us a message.
